A strong economy has been a welcome season for business owners. It has allowed us to grow and scale our companies with ease and comfort. Many believe that an impactful recession is bound to come at some point soon, given that recessions occur on average every 5-6 years.
A business owner who remains aware of this and prepares their business as if it could be tomorrow, will ultimately run a better business instead of letting the economic shifts “just happen to them.” There are a few ways that you can prepare your company for this change.
TGIF, Happy Friday! I am back in the office this week, fresh off a 3 week sabbatical-- my first! It was quite detoxifying and I am happy to report it was also a success. Thanks to a lot of planning, delegation and accountability, I was able to completely step away from running my business for three whole weeks and watch it run without me... and nothing blew up! It was divinely indulgent. Want to do the same?
Below are my tips to make this happen:
Kothar has found a way to copy Asana projects from one workspace to another, a feature not available from within Asana itself. You will need to create the target project in advance and the process requires some manual checking of project IDs but overall could be a great time saver. Essentially a PHP script that has been extended and made accessible via a front-end web interface, the process supports board-style projects and custom fields.
The impact of giving feedback, like a great gift can depend greatly on how it is packaged. Positive or negative feedback can be equally well received, if the intention behind it is to improve a situation or a relationship.
Think about the worst gift you ever received. Was it ill conceived or was the intention behind it misread? One year I was given a laser facial-hair remover from my other half. My immediate reaction was to feel offended…”he thinks I’m too hairy!” His intention, however, was that he wanted to save me time and money in going to the salon. All was forgiven, but the gift was still returned. That’s my ME time, after all.
Happy Friday and welcome to the last month of the year! I hope this year has been as wonderful for you as it has been for me. Forty was definitely fabulous, and filled with so many positive things. As I reflect on the last year, I can think of so many things to be thankful for both personally and professionally, below are our top 10 for 2018:
Happy Friday and welcome to the start of another beautiful month! I hope this gorgeous Fall season is treating you well. This time 12 years ago, I was about to have my son Nathan. As a mom, I remember the planning, the labor, the delivery and the sudden "parent" status - all of it a whirlwind experience. As an entrepreneur, bringing a new service or product line to market carries a similar weight for me. The excitement, joy, challenge and uncertainty all mirror my path into motherhood all those years ago.
If you’re running EOS® (the Entrepreneur’s Operating System) in your business, you have experienced first hand how beneficial it can be to your company’s growth. Like all learning tools and systems, to really gain strong Traction®, the challenge lies in supporting your team on the ground level with the day-to-day execution and implementation of EOS® principles. Even though your team may welcome the changes EOS® brings and adopt the system, the secret to success is really the consistency and commitment to delegate accordingly.
Weekly leadership meetings are important to the health of any organization, but are often times counterproductive and frustrating, with agenda items that don’t matter to everyone on the team, and potentially lingering action items/issues that no one claims/handles, etc. What if we told you there is a better way to manage your weekly leadership meetings?
Peace out summer! I turned 40 this summer, travelled around Europe and hit some really exciting milestones in my business; so it was a pretty epic summer for me! Hope you are sliding into Fall feeling equally as energized. There was no greater feeling for me than to be able to travel, completely disconnect and know that my team had things covered in my absence back at Delegate. Taking this break PROVED that it was possible. Nothing blew up, nothing came up that they couldn't handle and they happily rose to the occasion!
