Google Updates Gmail to Allow Users to Stream Video Attachments

KNOW | TWELVE, APRIL 2017

Google’s Gmail Now Lets You Stream Video Attachments.

Google’s Gmail service has been updated to allow users to stream video attachments from email rather than downloading them. Clicking a thumbnail image will start streaming the video. Before this update users had to download the entire file and open it via media player to view.

Downloading large video files to users' hard drives took up valuable storage space, an issue that streaming directly from email will eliminate. Right now only personal computers will be able to take advantage of the streaming service, there is no timeline on when the update will be available to mobile users.
